No yoga experience necessary, all levels welcome. Our Pool SUP Yoga classes are a great opportunity to experience the mindfulness and adventure of practicing yoga on the water in a pool environment. The instability of water as a surface allows you to engage and strengthen your core muscles and move mindfully at a slower pace to maintain balance. Each class includes gentle stretches and flowing movements to warm up the body, holding steady poses to develop strength, and a meditative relaxation on the water to close. While challenging and invigorating, our Pool SUP Yoga classes take place in a more controlled environment than our River SUP Yoga classes, making this an excellent way to ease into SUP Yoga if you've never tried it before and open water feels a little too outside your comfort zone.
For comfort and ease of workout, we recommend light, quick-drying athletic clothing and/or swimsuits. Heavy cotton clothing is not recommended. For outdoor pool sessions, always wear sunscreen. Dress for the weather, layer if necessary. If you love your sunglasses, leave them on dry land unless you have them secured using a strap. Bring water, a towel, a change of clothes, and your sense of adventure.
Your instructor is a certified lifeguard and trained in first aid and water rescue to provide water safety. All that's required from you is the ability to swim, but more importantly, to have fun!
