SUP mermaids - IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
COSTUMES — Costumes are required! Choose a costume you can comfortably paddle in and potentially swim in. Heavy cotton and other heavy fabric is not recommended. There is a possibility your clothes may get wet - you will be in the water approximately knee deep when you launch. We encourage quick-drying clothing or swimsuits. Make sure all costume accessories and decorations are secure on your person as well as your board/kayak. We are not responsible for items that are lost in the water. Keep a towel and a change of clothes on shore (just in case). A bin will be available at the registration table to hold keys and other small items if needed.
SAFETY FIRST — PFDs and leashes are required! SUP leashes must be worn; paddlers will be checked at the launch points by event officials. PFDs are required by law to be on your vessel, we strongly recommend you wear them! Waist & inflatable PFDs are acceptable.
PADDLE AT YOUR OWN RISK — Previous paddle experience is required. If you are not comfortable paddling on the Hudson River, do not register for this event. Anyone participating in the paddle is responsible for their own equipment and/or equipment provided by Rivertowns SUP & Yoga. All paddlers should have adequate skills, knowledge, and experience to participate in a paddle event on the Hudson River.
SUP mermaids - CANCELLATION POLICY*:
In the event of adverse weather and/or water conditions, Rivertowns SUP & Yoga will cancel the paddle and notify all registrants. If a rain date is used, all registrations will be transferred to the rain-date automatically. Registrants will be able to cancel their appointment if unable to attend the rain-date. Refunds will be provided for a cancelled event.
48-hr cancellation policy — due to limited availability of equipment, you must cancel your reservation at least 48-hrs in advance to receive a refund.
*Credit card processing fees are nonrefundable.
