Rivertowns SUP & Yoga was formed in 2018 by Tarrytown resident Tara Scheller. Tara is certified as an instructor in Yoga, SUP Yoga, and Paddle Fit 1 (fundamental stand up paddle boarding techniques and water safety). She is Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR/AED certified with the American Red Cross and trained in applied water safety and rescue. With a background in dance and a registered Dance/Movement Therapist, Tara has always been drawn to using movement in a therapeutic way. She uses yoga to develop strength and flexibility in the body while practicing mindfulness and positive thinking for a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Growing up, Tara spent most of her summers in Delaware on Indian River where she developed a love for the water. This is where she first had the opportunity to try stand up paddle boarding and SUP yoga. From the first moment she stepped on a paddle board she knew it was the beginning of something wonderful.
